Dragon Cake Finished

Here's the photos of the process...

This will all be spread over a few days. Today (Monday) I made Wings/Tail/Spikes. The tail is made out of rice crispy treat, and the wings/spikes are gum paste.

Ingredients for tail: Cocoa Powder, Red Food Coloring by the Crate, Rice Cereal, Marshmallows, Margarine (not butter)

(Doesnt it look like ground beef? ewwww)

Wings and Spikes were made out of gum paste, water, and confectioner's sugar, in addition to burgundy cake coloring.

PhotobucketThe end product was pretty funky looking on the wings. Though it seems like clay at first, gum paste does not maintain the same properties (Genius, I know). Some major cosmetic surgery will be needed on those wings by day 3.
